Permits are required for, but not limited to, all new construction, additions and/or structural alterations, decks, patios, sheds, above ground and in-ground pools, solar panel arrays, generators, outdoor furnaces, temporary and permanent signs, road occupancy and driveways. By reference, the following codes were also adopted at that time: International Building Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Urban Wild Land Interface Code, International Council Electrical Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International Zoning Code, International Existing Building Code, International Code Council Performance Code and the International Private Sewage Disposal Code. On July 8, 2004, the Upper Salford Township Board of Supervisors adopted the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code as the building code for the Township of Upper Salford.
